"Smart” Management Features
Manage all ProSafe Smart Switches as from an easy-to-use Web console that can be used to configure all features, as well as monitor and trouble-shoot. These switches also have SNMP (v1, v2c) to collect and track data to monitor the network health, as well as manage devices, and more easily enforce critical IT controls and policies. SNMP v2c is most commonly deployed, as it provides better reporting capabilities than SNMP v1. In addition, the GS108T also supports standards based 802.1ab: Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP). This feature enables discovery of other devices in the network that support LLDP. The switch also features Link Aggregation Group (LAG) which allows trunk groups to be created. Finally, the GS108T also features 802.1w Rapid Spanning Tree (RSTP) which is backward compatible with 802.1d Spanning Tree Protocol.
