The igeacom EMU (Emergency Monitoring Unit) is a user friendly Personal Emergency Response device that enables hands-free two-way voice communication between the resident and the monitoring center.
The igeacom EMU is the ideal device for use in homes, apartments and assisted living residences. The igeacom EMU may be pre-programmed for easy installation or set up with custom programming on-site within minutes. It is adaptable to different acoustical environments and can be programmed to operate in either full duplex of half duplex (toggle) modes. It is controlled by the monitoring center operator with IgeaCare’s controller device or it can be set up for automatic two-way voice mode when used as an in-house alert system.
The igeacom EMU may be used to monitor up to 7 separate users, each identified with unique user codes. It can also be programmed to directly contact in-house response staff or report to IgeaCare’s central monitoring station.
Specialized Monitoring - The igeacom EMU can operate as a stand-alone system or interfaced as an upgrade to existing alert systems that do not have two-way voice capability.
When the igeacom EMU is activated, it will report to a dedicated phone line and identify the caller using built-in voice annunciation software. Live two-way voice response is initiated from the responders fixed or portable telephone set to assess the situation, triage the event, and assure the caller that they will be attended to accordingly. For specialized applications such as hold-up detection, the igeacom EMU can also be programmed to operate in silent alarm panic mode which allows the monitoring center to listen in undetected once the unit is activated.
