Ultra high resolution monitoring over a network is now a reality with the AV3100-DN from Arecont Vision. The camera is equipped with a 1/2" color CMOS sensor brimming with 3 million pixels, and incorporates AV's proprietary massively-parallel MegaVideo technology. Together, these enable the camera to produce exceptional quality video images with the level of sharpness and color accuracy normally associated with digital still cameras.
To put it in numbers, video is captured at a resolution of 2048 x 1536 and at speeds of up to 15 FPS (in 3 MP mode), translating into a resolution ten times that of the best analog CCTV camera. The key advantage to having such a high resolution is the ability to greatly magnify a picture without suffering image degradation common to standard resolution cameras. Consequently, a single camera can be used to monitor an area normally requiring up to ten fixed analog cameras, making it a huge time and cost saver.
Forensic Zooming Working from a networked PC, a user can enlarge an area of the image in order to bring a person or object into close view. This magnified image is superimposed over the full image in PIP fashion. Magnified images can also be moved up and down and from side to side, providing users with a virtual PTZ function. By capturing the original image in super high resolution, images remain super sharp even under extreme digital magnification. - Day/Night Function
- A motorized IR cut filter system auto switches the camera from color to a light sensitive B/W mode when light levels fall, ensuring visible images 24-hours a day.
- PoE (Power over Ethernet)
- When used together with a PoE switch, this camera can be powered solely by its Ethernet cable. By using the same cable to transmit both data and power to the camera, this camera can be installed in areas inaccessible to a power outlet such as inside an outdoor housing or close to a ceiling. PoE also provides fail safe operation by having the ability to keep the camera operating in the event of a localized power failure.
- Built-In Motion Detection & Alarm I/O Ports
- Built into the camera is a motion detection function adjustable for size and sensitivity and programmable for 64 detection zones. Additionally, this camera accepts optional external sensors to trigger an alarm alert or to activate a device following an alarm event.
- Region of Interest (ROI)
- Users can select to view a portion of the image at a higher resolution than the surrounding area. This means that users will get to view important objects or people with the utmost quality, and at the same time save storage and network resources.
